MAAC LIHEAP

MAAC LIHEAP accepts LIHEAP applications for residents of Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties in Missouri. LIHEAP helps low income households meet their immediate energy needs.

The program mainly helps those who spend a large amount of their household income on energy bills. If eligible, a payment is made to your primary heat supplier, and if you get a disconnect notice, LIHEAP may be able to help resolve that crisis and keep you connected.

• Be responsible for paying home heating and cooling costs.
• Be a United States citizen or have been legally admitted for permanent residence.
• Have $3,000 or less in bank accounts, retirement accounts, or investments.
• Meet specific income guidelines that vary according to household size and type.

If you are unable to print an application, you may call 855-373-4636 or 816-768-8900 and request one be mailed to you. You may also pick up an application outside the door of the LIHEAP office.

Please note, if your application is not complete as submitted, processing will be delayed.

• Answer all questions completely (remember to write in all Social Security numbers for everyone in your household and write in your account numbers)
• Sign and date your application
• Include a copy of your main fuel bill
• Include copies of Social Security cards if you are not currently receiving SNAP benefits
• Include copies of income records for household members not receiving SNAP benefits
• Include a copy of your disconnect or shut off notice if you have one
